What Pre-K Graduates Can Do

Our Pre-K completers consistently exceed kindergarten readiness benchmarks across Illinois school districts.

  • Read simple words and sentences — solid phonics foundation and sight word vocabulary
  • Write their full name and simple sentences with correct pencil grip and letter formation
  • Count to 100, add and subtract within 10, and understand basic place value
  • Work independently for 20+ minutes and follow multi-step classroom routines without reminders
  • Navigate peer conflict independently — express feelings, listen, and find solutions
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset — embrace challenge, persist through difficulty, and celebrate others
  • ProCare portfolio — parents receive daily updates and can review their child's full-year learning journey

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or K–3 Elementary Education
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • CPR & first aid certified — renewed annually
